We had a fun weekend on Easter this year. Saturday was a beautiful day! It was about 70 degrees out and the sun was shining! Evey's school put on a huge egg hunt at the park by the church/school and we made sure to get there early! Evey found lots of yummy eggs but we had to move fast to get the goods! The competition was tough! (it starts at an early age!)
Then Sunday morning, with no previous signs, she woke up with the WORST COUGH EVER! We thought there was an old dog in her bed with her, because it didn't sound like our kid! Well, we got dressed to go to church, but a few minutes before leaving, we came to reality and said, there is no way we can take her in public. It was too risky. We wouldn't want her infecting other kids. Other than the cough she was fine. So we were all pretty with no where to go. So we took some fun family pics and decided to go get some pastries at at Panera, then spent the rest of the day indoors. We were bummed cause we had a whole day planned with fun family and friend stuff, but oh well!

That night was the worst. We were close to going to the ER that night because it sounded like she couldn't even breathe. She was also running a fever at or above 104. The nurses at the ER said there was nothing they could really do but gave us some solutions to steaming her lungs, then having her breathe the air from the freezer. So we were up a lot that night. We were so scared. Then she ended up puking from coughing so hard. Oh the pains of parenting. Its so scary sometimes!
The croup lasted the whole week. She missed all 3 days of school and we pretty much stayed in all week. It's ok, it was dreary out most the time anyhoo! We're just glad our bean is back to her old self again!
HAPPY EASTER!
